Extra Credit Opportunities

 

Students can receive up to 30 points of extra credit each quarter by way of current events, class room supplies, and by watching historically based movies. Students are only allowed to turn in one extra credit assignment per week.

Class materials (1)

Students may only buy one class material for extra credit and receive 10 points, per quarter. Students may buy, but are not limited to, copy paper, tissues, sanitizer, expo markers, post-its, and color pencils.

Current Events (3)

You can complete 3 current events and receive 10 points for each (30 points total per quarter). Students must print out the first page of the article and type a 100 word summary and a 100 word opinion on it. Students should choose topics that are of significance and not cover something related to pop-culture (sports, music, entertainment)

Movies (1)

Students can watch one movie from the list below per quarter and right a 200 word report on it. The report is not a summary of the movie. Instead students must discuss the films historical accuracy\inaccuracy, symbolism, and themes.
